SC forgives the minister who gave controversial statement on Colonel Sophia, SIT will investigate

Date:

Madhya Pradesh Minister Vijay Shah, who made a controversial statement on Colonel Sophia Qureshi, has been rejected by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has ordered the formation of SIT to investigate the case registered against Shah. The court has said that this SIT of 3 senior IPS officers give it the first status report on May 28. During the hearing, the judges reprimanded Vijay Shah.

‘People apologize to avoid law’ The Madhya Pradesh High Court automatically took cognizance of Vijay Shah’s controversial statement on Colonel Sophia, who played the role of army spokesperson during Operation Sindoor . The High Court had ordered an FIR against the minister. Senior advocate Maninder Singh appeared on behalf of Shah, who reached the Supreme Court to seek relief from this order. He told the judges that Vijay Shah has apologized for the statement. The bench of Justices Surya Kant and N. Kotishwar Singh was not convinced. The bench said that many people apologize for avoiding law or shed tears.

‘The whole country is angry’
The Supreme Court questioned Vijay Shah’s forgiveness and said that if he had regretted it, he would not have regretted it. Pointing towards Shah to remain a minister so far, the court said, "It does not seem that he is really ashamed of his statement. The whole country is angry about his statement. This statement has passed for a long time. There is a dignity of the post of minister. The behavior of the minister should be ideal for the society."

‘Rafa-rod notable case’
Justice Suryakant said that he has seen a video of the speech of the petition. He did not show any responsibility while giving a speech. In one place in the speech, he was going to use a very rude language. Perhaps he got a better word or woke up some intellect, which did not use the word at least. Nevertheless, what he has said is not that it should be dismissed on the basis of showy mafiname.

SIT officer out of MP in SIT
after this, the court ordered the formation of Special Investigation Team ie SIT. Justice Surya Kant said, "We are ordering the formation of SIT of 3 senior IPS officers. The DGP of Madhya Pradesh should be formed by 10 am on 20 May. The three IPS officers of SIT may be from Madhya Pradesh cadre, but they are not originally from Madhya Pradesh. IG rank officials should lead the investigation team. There should also be a female officer in this team."

relief from arrest
The court ordered the transfer of the FIR lodged by the police to the SIT. The bench put an interim prohibition on Vijay Shah’s arrest and said that he should cooperate fully in the investigation. The court said that it would not fully monitor the investigation, but the SIT continues to give the status report to him from time to time.

The litmus test of fairness
The court also said that this investigation would be like the litmus test of the fairness of the Madhya Pradesh government. At the end of the hearing, the judges told Vijay Shah that he cannot say that the High Court convicted him without hearing. They themselves should see how they can compensate for the losses caused by their statement.
