Delhi-Srinagar IndiGo Flight: Delhi-Srinagar Flight Indigo Flight 6E2142 had to make an emergency landing at Srinagar Airport after being hit by Turbulance on Wednesday (May 21, 2025). During this time the aircraft pilot sought permission from Lahore Air Traffic Control (ATC) to use Pakistani airspace for some time to avoid turbulance, but it was rejected. Emergency landing sources of IndiGo flight said that the Flight 6e2142, who was a victim of a very strong shock in the air, is investigating the case of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). On Wednesday, the flight, carrying more than 220 people, including Trinamool Congress MPs, suddenly fell victim to hailstorm and the pilot reported an emergency to air traffic control at Srinagar Airport. However, this aircraft later landed safely. Pakistan did not allow the use of airspace. Sources said that when the aircraft was flying on top of Amritsar on Wednesday, the pilot found the aircraft in adverse conditions due to weather and sought permission to pass through the airspace of Pakistan through Lahore Air Traffic Control (ATC). To avoid this situation, it was requested to use Pakistan airspace but Lahore ATC rejected it. According to sources, as a result of not getting permission, the aircraft had to proceed on the same path, where it faced a strong tremor and hailstorm in the air. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the neighboring country has closed its airspace for Indian aviation companies in view of the tension between India and Pakistan. India has also shut down its airspace for Pakistani aviation companies.
