Ayush Sharma, a promising player from Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, recently performed the Indian tricolor in the International Chess tournament held in Tashkand, the capital of Uzbekistan. Earlier, he also finished fifth in the Grand Master tournament held in Pune, Maharashtra. This young player from Khandwa has proved himself by competing with legendary players from countries like Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Indonesia and Armenia not only across the country. During the tournament, Ayush also defeated India’s legendary Grand Master and Abhijeet Gupta, who was a five -time Commonwealth Champion. This proved to be an important turn of his career, which gave him both confidence and lead. A brilliant performance in the Pune tournament said that he was in great rhythm from the beginning in the “Maharashtra GM tournament” in Pune and was leading till the last round. Although he was not able to win in the final match, he is satisfied with the entire tournament and counts it in the biggest achievements of his career. The performance of Ayush in the tournament played in Uzbekistan learning experiences, Uzbekistan, was commendable. He said that the experience there was very challenging but learning. According to him, in Tashkent, he got a chance to play with the top players around the world, which gave him a chance to improve his strategy and sports further. Recalling the start of chess and the support of the family, Ayush said that he started playing chess with his brother in 2013. His grandfather and father inspired him for this game and supported him from the beginning. In 2014, he won the under-11 state level championship, then made his mark at the national level. In the year 2018, he came in the top 10 in the National Championship, and since then his journey has been continuously upwards. The dream of becoming a grand master is now a dream of becoming a grand master. He told that he now needs only 22 rating points and a norm. Ayush is soon going to participate in several international tournaments including the Asian Championships to be held in UAE, Dubai Open and Octobe Open in Kazakhstan. Their goal is to come to the top 10 in these matches and qualify for the World Cup. In an inspirational message for the youth, Ayush gave a message to the young players and said that if preparation is done with dedication and hard work, then any place can be achieved. In Madhya Pradesh too, there is an atmosphere for chess and the players of the state are proving themselves on national and international forums. Ayush Sharma, who is now an international master, has become the pride of Madhya Pradesh and this story of his struggle and success has also become a source of inspiration for other youths of the state.
