When a player went on the field to play the final match, the opposing team used to make a passage and the player came out of the middle of it which was a symbol of an honor. After the end of the match, fellow players used to pick up the field on the shoulder and then the eyes of the fans present in the stand would get moist. This used to be real retirement. Today the era has changed, now the desire of the player to take honor has either ended or the institution that has to do it has forgotten the old custom. The increasing money and time in the game has limited the retirement of players to social media. Sharing every special opportunity on social media has become the custom of the cricketers of our country. Even the biggest player likes this easy path. But the question is that why that old practice of retirement is getting extinct and who is responsible for it. Why not retire like Sachin is not the rest? Sachin Tendulkar was seen in Indian cricket for the last time while retiring from the field. Anil Kumble announced his retirement from the grounds of Kotla in Delhi and even then this champion bowler received great respect for his achievements on the field.
