Pehalgam Terror Attack: There is an atmosphere of tension between India and Pakistan after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Colonel SS Sohi (R) had a detailed conversation with IANS on the strategy of the terrorists behind this attack and the role of sleeper cell. Colonel Sohi said that Pakistan -backed terrorist organizations conduct their activities in India through sleeper cell. These sleeper cells remain like ordinary citizens and if needed, they become active and execute the attack, Reiki and attack. People send photo videos from mobile phones- Colonel said that members of the sleeper cell live silently without any communication or activity. When instructions are received from Pakistan, they gather information about the activities of the Indian Army, movement of military troops and sensitive places. These people make photos, videos from mobile phones. Many times they are caught due to vigilance of Indian Army and Intelligence Agencies. Prior to the Pahalgam attack, the terrorists raked with the help of local detectives and marked sensitive places to target tourists. Regarding the strategy of the terrorists, Colonel said that they choose tourist places like soft targets, where the way to escape is easy. Jungle and dense areas are the main routes for them to flee. Different teams work to hide arms and bring them to the place of attack. Terrorists use common citizens such as clothes and language, which makes their identity difficult. Terrorists choose time and place- Colonel Colonel said, “Terrorists have the advantage of choosing time and place, while it is not possible to deploy our army everywhere.” The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police are cautious against the terrorists for 24 hours. As soon as intelligence information is received, a search operation is conducted by surrounded by suspicious areas. However, the Colonel admitted that adequate military deployment is challenging everywhere due to limited resources and increasing stress on the border. Terrorists can suddenly attack suddenly, where there was peace, where there was peace. Indian soldiers also have to suffer losses due to the hiding of terrorists and sudden attacks.
