Prior to the Pahalgam attack, the terrorists raked with the help of local detectives and marked sensitive places to target tourists. Regarding the strategy of the terrorists, Colonel said that they choose tourist places like soft targets, where the way to escape is easy. Jungle and dense areas are the main routes for them to flee. Different teams work to hide arms and bring them to the place of attack. Terrorists use common citizens such as clothes and language, which makes their identity difficult. Terrorists choose time and place- Colonel Colonel said, “Terrorists have the advantage of choosing time and place, while it is not possible to deploy our army everywhere.” The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir police are cautious against the terrorists for 24 hours. As soon as intelligence information is received, a search operation is conducted by surrounded by suspicious areas. However, the Colonel admitted that adequate military deployment is challenging everywhere due to limited resources and increasing stress on the border.
