Pahalgam Terror Attack: One month of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir is completed. The Union Cabinet meeting was held under the chairmanship of PM Modi, after which the central government came into action mode. The Cabinet Security Committee (CCS) meeting was chaired by PM Modi to end the terrorists and teach the enemies a lesson. This included four major decisions that canceled the Indus Water Agreement, the Attari-Wagah border immediately, the SAARC visa scheme closed for Pakistan, the reduction of the number of employees in the Pakistan High Commission. 3. Pakistan canceled the Shimla agreement after Indus was stopped. Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while giving jackal, said that either water will flow or bleeding in this river. 4. India started Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. Under this, the Indian Army destroyed 9 terrorist bases on 7 May 2025 by airing PoK and other places in Pakistan. On the same day, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued instructions for many cities of India mock drill. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that more than 100 terrorists were killed in this action of India. The operation was done with accuracy targeting the terrorist structure associated with the groups responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack. 5. The Indian Army showed evidence of Operation Sindoor. The Indian Army, Air Force and Ministry of External Affairs held a joint press briefing, including Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Air Force Wing Commander Vyika Singh and Indian Army Colonel Sophia Qureshi. Military officials also showed the clip of the attack on terrorist bases. 6. After the success of Operation Sindoor, the Central Government called an all -party meeting on May 8 at 11 am. In the meeting chaired by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, many opposition leaders including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha were informed about Operation Sindoor. 7. A red alert was issued to Pakistan after Operation Sindoor of the Indian Army. Several leaders, including Defense Minister Khwaja Asif, threatened for a nuclear attack. Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif called an emergency meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC). 8. After India’s attack, Pakistan targeted many cities in India and carried out attacks with drones. The Indian air defense system destroyed all the drones in the sky itself. During this time, siren voices were heard in the areas adjacent to Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir border. In response, the Indian Army completely destroyed a post and terrorist launch pad of Pakistan. This was the post from where the drones were sent for an attack in India. 9. When the Pakistan Army tried to attack India’s military bases, the Indian Army thwarted those attacks with the S-400 air defense system and destroyed Pakistan’s air defense system in Lahore in retaliation. With this, 11 airbase of Pakistan was destroyed. 10. Fearing India’s attacks, Pakistan pleaded for ceasefire in many countries of the world, but India made it clear that the ceasefire would be only when Pakistan’s DGMO would have direct talks with the DGMO of the Indian Army. After that, when a call came from the Pak Army, the ceasefire agreed on 10 May 2025.
