New Delhi. Due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan, the Government of India has closed 24 airports for civil aviation till Thursday evening due to security reasons. This step was taken when tension increased after Pakistan and missile attacks in Indian cities Jammu, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. These closed airports include airports in Chandigarh, Srinagar, Jaisalmer, Shimla and other major cities. The Ministry of Civil Aviation informed that these airports have been temporarily closed due to security reasons. Below is a list of airports that are closed: Chandigarh Srinagar Amritsar Ludhiana Bhuntar Kishangarh Patiala Shimla Shimla-Gaggal Bathinda Jaisalmer Jodhpur Bikaner Halwara Pathankot Jammu Leh Mundra Jamnagar Hirasa (Rajkot) Porbandar Keshan Keshla Bhuj, in the meantime, has also given necessary advice to the passengers. The airline said that passengers have been advised to reach the airport at least three hours before the scheduled departure time. The airline said in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that security measures have been extended at the airport in view of the order of the Civil Aviation Security Bureau. Air India said, “The check-in closes 75 minutes before departure.” In this situation, passengers have been advised to reach the airport ahead of time to avoid any kind of inconvenience in their journey. This step has been taken keeping security in mind, so that the safety of passengers can be ensured. Earlier in the day, domestic airline companies canceled around 430 flights on Thursday, which is about three percent of the total fixed flights in the country, as 27 airports will remain closed till May 10. The affected airport includes Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, Bhuntar, Shimla, Gaggal, Dharamshala, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mundra, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kandla, Keshod, Bhundan and Hindan.
