The police, taking strict action against the incident, have registered an FIR against unknown people at Banashankari Police Station under the Information Technology Act. The matter came under light when a police officer saw suspicious content on an Instagram account called ‘Bangalore Metro Cleix’ during regular social media surveillance. On this account, 14 photos and videos were uploaded secretly in the metro coach and the station premises, in which women were recorded without their knowledge. According to the police, there were more than 6,000 followers of that Instagram account. After taking action from the police, all the posts there have now been removed. This step was taken after a comprehensive public criticism and action of taking cognizance of the police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Lokesh B. Jaglasar said that the investigation has been started in the case and the help of cybercrime experts is being taken to identify the account operator as well as the video recording person. He said that ‘We will soon find out the accused and ensure a safe environment for women passengers in the city’. What kind of action is this at the metro station?
