Amid stress from Pakistan, India is going to gain such strength in space, after which it will be impossible for its enemies to escape. In fact, India has planned to launch not one, not two, not two, but more than 50 such satellites, which will keep a close watch on the enemies from the sky itself. Pawan Kumar Goenka, president of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (In-Space), said on Wednesday that India will set up a group of 52 satellites in the next five years to increase the space-based surveillance forces in the orbit. He said that this step will see strong participation in the private sector. “We already have strong capabilities,” said Goenka said in a conversation with PTI on the occasion of the global space exploration conference 2025. He said that the objective of this scheme is to increase the monitoring capabilities of the defense sector. Goenka said, “So far this work has been done mainly by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization). As we move forward, we will also include the private sector in it.” These satellites will help the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force monitor enemy activities, monitor borders and improve immediate time coordination during military operations. Goenka said, “Half of the 52 satellites will be built by the private sector, while the remaining satellites will be constructed by ISRO.” However, he clarified that the decisions to further increase the monitoring capabilities will be taken by the Union Home Ministry and the Defense Forces. He said that ISRO Small Satellite Launch vehicle (SSLV) is also in the process of transferring technology to the private sector.
