Operation Sindoor: A senior Indian Army official has revealed the role of T-72 tanks and BMP-2 armored vehicles during Operation Sindoor in a special interview to NDTV. The campaign was carried out on 7 May and its objective was to take vengeance of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, killing 25 Indians and one Nepali tourists. The army officer said that before the start of the operation, the tanks were already transported to the Line of Control (LOC). Their main task was to demolish the routes and outposts used for infiltration of the terrorists. The officer said that the role of armored vehicles was selected for accurate attacks and used as a restrained form, so that the limits of ceasefire would not be crossed. The official said that we also targeted those Pakistani posts which were helping in infiltration. These were already identified goals for us.
