In the early stage, ovarian cancer occurs without symptoms, but later symptoms such as stomach swelling, abdominal pain, abnormal changes in periods, changes in weight, changes in urine or stool routine, constipation, fatigue and dizziness. However, these symptoms appear in the third or fourth stage.
The doctor said that the exact cause of ovarian cancer has not been detected yet, but some factors can increase its risk. The risk of ovarian cancer increases with aging. Even if a woman has a family history of this cancer, it is more at risk. Hormonal therapy and genetic mutation also increases the risk of this fatal disease. If this cancer is detected in the initial stage, then it can be controlled through treatment. Many treatment options including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy are available, which can provide relief from this cancer.
Dr. Priya Bansal, Consultant of Gynecology Oncosergary Department of Fortis Hospital, Greater Noida told That ovarian cancer is more at risk of death, as this cancer is often detected in stage 3 or stage 4. Initially there are no symptoms, due to which it is not detected. If a woman has a overeine cancer detect in stage 3, then her chances of living the next 5 years are just 40%. The chances of living a few years in stage 4 are less than 20%. In such a situation, the sooner you are able to detect this cancer, the more likely to live.
Which women are at high risk of ovarian cancer? Dr. Priya said that women who do not have children are more at risk of ovarian cancer. People with factories such as endometriosis or complex ovarian mass, breast cancer or ovarian cancer is more at risk of this fatal disease. To avoid this, women should follow healthy lifestyle and keep good food. Apart from this, regular checkup should be done.
