JJ Hospital in Mumbai has achieved another achievement in the field of medicine. The 13 cm long external substance trapped in it was successfully evacuated after a serious eye injury of the 25 -year -old patient. This complex surgery was carried out by the hospital expert team with great care and skills. The patient was immediately brought to the emergency department of JJ Hospital after the accident. His eye was 13 cm long, 2 cm wide and 0.5 cm thick exterior substance, making the situation extremely risky. The hospital doctors and staff immediately started treatment and stabilized the patient’s condition.
Subsequently, a joint team of ophthalmologists, ENT surgeons and plastic surgeons examined the patient and decided to surgery. This complex operation used endoscopic technology, including removal of external substance as well as arbitatic decompression (reducing pressure around the eye). Surgery was done with extreme accuracy so that the patient’s eye and surrounding parts are not harmed.
The surgery was led by Dr. Srinivas Shreepatrao Chavan, Professor of ENT Department. He was accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Sunita Bage, Dr. Aishwarya and Dr. Rajat. Dr. Sukriti Uttam Atram and Dr. Anantakrishnan A. Taking full care of the patient’s safety and pain. Apart from this, Dr. Sujata Chanhande, head of the Department of Offer Sciences and the standby team of Dr. Purva were also ready for any emergency. Nursing staff, especially Prerna Warandekar gave significant support in surgery.
This successful surgery has been appreciated by Dr. Ajay Bhandar, Dean of JJ Hospital and Medical Superintendent. He said that this operation is an excellent example of excellent medical services and teamwork of JJ Hospital.
