He said that he does not want the telecom company to turn into a public sector undertaking (PSU). Scindia gave a strong message to Vodafone Idea and said that now she has to ensure good performance. Recently, after converting the outstanding outstanding of Rs 36,950 crore to the spectrum auction into equity, the government has now got 48.99 percent stake in VIL. Earlier this figure was around 22.6 percent. Significantly, if the government’s share in the company further increases, it will turn into PSU and the company will come under the purview of CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) and other inspection bodies. Scindia said, now it is their (VIL) job to make sure they do well. Today, the government holds 49 percent of the company. The government has no intention of making it PSU. So we will remain at 49 percent only. “First Published – April 23, 2025 | 10:36 PM IST (Business Standard Staff has changed the headline and photo of this report, the rest of the news has been published without any change from a common news source.)
