New Delhi: No one was guessed when the friendship on Facebook will turn into a legal battle. But this happened in a case in Madhya Pradesh. A young man was accused of making physical relations with a woman for 5 years by pretending to be married. When it came to marriage, he refused. Now the Supreme Court has given an important order in this case. In September 2024, the trial court convicted the accused youth. The court held him guilty under Section 376 (2) (N) (repeated rape) and 417 (fraud) of the IPC. As a sentence, he was sentenced to 10 years in jail for 10 years and a separate sentence of 2 years. But on 5 September 2024, the Madhya Pradesh High Court rejected his application. After this, he approached the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has given a big order in this case. The court said that the accused should be released on bail. At the same time, the concerned session court was directed to leave the accused on bail but necessary conditions should be imposed on him. The next hearing of the case will now be held on 25 July. Relationship from 2016 to 2021, then refusal is based on an FIR which was registered in 2021. The complainant woman alleged that between 2016 and 2021, the young man repeatedly made physical relations with her. Every time he said that he will marry her. The woman also told that she was identified with the young man through Facebook. The young man’s sister was his friend. Negotiations started through social media and then this relationship progressed. When the woman talked about marriage, the young man refused. He said that his mother is against this relationship. During the hearing in the Supreme Court, advocate Nikil Jain on behalf of the victim presented the side. The court ordered bail after hearing both sides. But the matter is not over.
