What is a beating retreat? The Beating Retreat celebrations have been a tradition between India and Pakistan since 1959. In this, soldiers of both countries jointly launch the flag of their respective country. Attari (Amritsar), which is in front of Wagah in Pakistan, is in front of Hussainiwala (Ferozepur), which is in front of Ganda Singh Wala, and every evening in Sadki (Fazilka).
