Changing the government in Delhi has a direct impact on legal disputes. The BJP government led by Rekha Gupta has withdrawn 7 cases from the Supreme Court. This case was filed by the previous Aam Aadmi Party government against the Central Government and the Lieutenant Governor.
On Friday, Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati on behalf of the Delhi government sought permission from the bench headed by the Chief Justice to withdraw the petitions filed by the old government and the court accepted it. All of the petitions which the Delhi government has withdrawn was filed challenging the rights of the Center and Lt. Governor (LG). One of these petitions was against the order of the National Green Tribunal in which LG was made the chairman of the Yamuna cleaning committee.

Demand for additional funds for Delhi Jal Board, salary for lawyers appointed without LG and seeking rights to appoint lawyers in the High Court/Supreme Court are also withdrawn. Additional Solicitor General, presented for the Delhi government, said that now this dispute will not take time for the Supreme Court. On this, the Chief Justice smiled and allowed him to withdraw all the petitions.
