Patna. LJP (Ram Vilas) supremo and Union Minister Chirag Paswan finally met CM Nitish Kumar. But the warmth with which Chirag Paswan took a bouquet to CM Nitish Kumar, she did not appear to come out in the media. Talking to the media, Chirag Paswan said only, ‘There is a lot of topic, all those things have been discussed with them’ and then they sat in the car. But his brother -in -law and Jamui MP Arun Bharti said a big thing about the future of Chirag, due to which the market of rumors in Bihar’s political corridor once again became hot. Was this meeting important in terms of seat sharing and coalition strategy within the NDA before the 2025 Bihar assembly elections? Was this meeting only formal or is the complications of seat sharing behind it hidden? Come, let’s understand the meaning of this meeting. The relationship between Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan has been fluctuating in the past. In the 2020 assembly elections, Chirag fielded candidates against JDU and limited Nitish’s seats to 43. In response, JDU was accused of breaking the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) of Chirag, after which Chirag made LJP (Ram Vilas). However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chirag’s party won five seats and improved his relationship with Nitish. Chirag openly said on several occasions that he is ready to contest 2025 elections under the leadership of Nitish. The presence of Arun Bharti and JDU minister Vijay Chaudhary with Chirag in this meeting makes it more important. After how many days the two met? Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan have a formal meeting after 349 days. Nitish Kumar and Chirag Paswan had the last meeting on 5 June 2024, when Chirag met Nitish in Patna with his newly elected MPs. Even after this, both of them have met once or twice in the LJP office in Patna. Chirag invited Nitish on 14 January 2025 for Makar Sankranti, but Chirag was not there when Nitish reached the LJP office. It cannot be considered a meeting. Recently, on April 24, both were also present on the stage at PM Modi’s Madhubani rally. But on Monday i.e. May 19, the formal meeting has met after 5 June 2024. This meeting is part of the attempt to make seat sharing and strategy within the NDA for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Chirag’s statement and Arun Bharti’s statement was brief and unclear, which raised many questions in the political corridors. On the other hand, Arun Bharti indicated that the meeting discussed seat sharing, coalition strategy and the future of Chirag Paswan. Along with this, issues like development of Bihar were talked about. It is being speculated from his statement that Chirag’s party is demanding more than 40 seats in the assembly elections, which can be a challenge for the NDA. This demand is also important, because presently Chirag’s party does not have a single MLA in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. What is not being made on seat sharing? The seat sharing between JDU, BJP, and LJP (Ram Vilas) in Bihar has always been a complex issue. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Chirag got five seats and his party had a 100 percent strike rate. Based on this, Chirag has claimed that in 2025 he will get more seats than his wish. In the recent by -elections, the victory of five of the five seats of NDA has further enhanced Chirag’s confidence. The challenges regarding seat sharing in the NDA are NDA’s well -known leader and JDU will claim the most seats. In 2020, JDU contested 115 seats and this time it can also demand at least 100 seats. BJP, which wants to become the largest party in Bihar, can demand 80-100 seats. BJP leaders Samrat Chaudhary and Giriraj Singh have already supported Nitish’s leadership, but they will have their own priorities in the seat sharing. The demand for more than 40 seats can make it difficult for the NDA. Because, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s party and small parties like Upendra Kushwaha’s RLSP are also demanding some seats, which can make the equation more complex. The meeting in Nitish and Chirag gives the message of unity within the NDA on one side. On the other hand, Chirag also reminds Paswan’s ambition. Like 2020, in 2025, the issue of seat sharing between the two is entangling it. The statement of Chirag’s brother -in -law Arun Bharti shows that the purpose of the meeting was also to agree on seat sharing.
