Under Operation Chakra-5 (Operation Chakra-V), the CBI raided 8 states across the country and arrested 5 people. The CBI conducted these raids at the places where the point of sale (POS) agents of telecom companies were working, who are accused of selling SIM cards in a fake way. The CBI conducted raids at a total of 42 places in 8 states. During this time, 38 POS agents were searched. The CBI suspects that these agents along with cyber criminals were issuing SIM cards with the help of fake KYC (KYC/Know Your Customer) documents, which were later being used in cases like cheating and fraud. The important evidence found in the CBI action The CBI has seized several important evidence during the raid, including information about mobile phones, electronic devices, fake KYC documents and many suspects. Apart from this, many such people have also been identified who were playing the role of middlemen in the middle. The arrested people arrested 5 different states from the 5 different states who have been arrested by the CBI for violating the rules of telecom companies. All of them are accused of fake SIM cards in violation of the rules of telecom companies, which were later used in cases of cybercrime like UPI fraud, digital arrest, fake investment and identity stealing.
