Jaipur: On the evening of May 7, everything will stop for a few moments in 28 cities of Rajasthan. Siren will echo, lights will be extinguished, roads will be deserted and a virtual emergency will be seen, but not panic, it is all part of a national level security mock drill, which is aimed at testing the preparation of the country’s civil security system. What is the specialty of this mock drill? This mock drill is being organized in 244 ‘civil security districts’ across the country on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, including 28 cities of Rajasthan. This practice has become even more important after the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Where will the drill be done in Rajasthan? A total of 28 cities including the major cities of the state like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, Udaipur were included in the drill. There are 22 sirens in Jaipur, but only 10 of them are currently functioning. Sirens will be active at 10 places in Bikaner and 18 places in Jodhpur. Ajmer, Alwar, Barmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Bundi, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, Suratgarh, Abu Road, Bhiwari, Phulera, Lalgarh, Pali, Bhilwara, Sawai Madhopur, Jalore among others. Blackout will be practiced during the Delhi -like conditions like an aerial attack will be practiced. As soon as the siren will ring, full blackout will be done in cities. The lights of the houses will be closed, mobile flashlight and street lights will be extinguished. The headlights of vehicles will be closed. Even the toll booths and traffic lights will also have darkness. During this time, citizens will be taught how to take appropriate steps by staying calm at the time of disaster or attack. The preparations and challenges of Jaipur are in the current position in Jaipur, while sirens are bad in areas like Amer, Hirapura, Mansarovar. A siren in Amer is stuck in the court case.
