10 flight diverts, more than 50 late, trouble for passengers after storm and rain in Delhi

Heavy Rainfall in Delhi-DEL: In many states of India, the weather has suddenly taken a turn. On Wednesday (May 21, 2025), there was heavy rains and hailstorm after dust storm in Delhi-NCR. Due to the terrible changes in the weather, flight operations at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in Delhi were affected. An airport official said that at least 10 flights have been diverted towards the nearest airports due to change in weather, while more than 50 flights have been delayed between 7:45 pm and 8:45 pm.
